Went metal detecting / hunt an old park for old silver coins and civil war relics near NOLA that was a plantation many moons ago. Next to the Miss. River. I found a large 925 silver men’s ring. Big Ken found a nice musket ball & large brass rivet. Coinjumper found alot of clad. Nice to meet up.

The river bends and twists alot here. Gotta know where you’re at. LOL. Trust me, I was in an old plantation area but not in Jefferson Parish. Thanks for all the comments. CCH
Once a largely rural area of farms dairies and vast tracts of undeveloped land Jefferson Parish today is New Orleans’ first suburb – a bedroom community west of the city that received the first great migration of middle-class families from the 1950′s to the 1970′s.
I searched could not locate any plantations in that area other than Chalmette across the river. That park is named after a 5 term mayor of New Orleans he passed in his 5 th term. The area has called itself best bank for centuries.
I am a member of TN but havent hunted in a year. Tried to hunt in NOLA @ the park but wife was with me and that was not going down she wants to have nothing to do with MDing.
