@blake3one6 no the wax is put into plaster and when that hardens you put it in an oven the wax melts away and the impression is in the plaster you then pour in the liquid hot metal and it takes that shape. this is a simplified explanation but sums it up pretty well its called “lost wax casting” because the wax is lost in the process unlike some processes where you have a rubber master mold and can keep making the same identical wax everytime.
